Scare games gone wrong

Paring: Brother Chris & Scott x toddler! Reader

Summary; in the height of the lockdowns for the pandemic we all remember the scare games. Let’s just see one of those times it goes wrong.

Of course the whole point of war for the other not to know when it was going to happen but add their baby sister into the mix one afternoon.

All hell breaks loose.

Scott had put y/n down for a nap and was just chilling in the kitchen. Chris no where to be seen. He knew that probably meant a scare was being schemed, but Chris wouldn’t do that whilst she was napping right? He thought.

Time went by, he was just catching up on work, reading new scripts and replying to emails whilst listening out for if y/n woke up.

Most of the time she’d just climb out of bed because she had toddler bed with a rail just for her comfort and the brothers piece of mind.

Chris went to go scare Scott running round the corner into the kitchen, he soon found out he didn’t run into to him or dodger it was a sleepy y/n with her messy bed head, dummy hanging off her sleep suit and blankie tailing behind.

“Rawr!!! Scott I got you!!!” Chris screamed.

Tears lines her eyes, conflicted at why chrissy just did that, loud cries engulfed the entire room, echoing into the living room where Scott was currently going through emails on the couch.

“Chris what the hell is going on!” He asks as he walks into the kitchen, y/n running to him away from Chris. “Come here bubbas, you’re okay, it’s okay.” He tries to console a sleepy little y/n who’s basically having a meltdown.

Chris was sheepishly stood by the fridge, trying to make y/n a bottle as a little “I’m sorry”

It took a while for Scott to calm her down, before she would even let Chris anywhere near her or even let him try and get a word in without crying again.

“Bubs, come here sweet girl I’ve got something for you” He says as he shakes the bottle up for it to be ready to present to his little love.

“Mhmh Crissy” she mumbles from behind her dummie snuggling more into Scott before fully giving Chris another chance.

“I’m sorry sunshine, Chrissy is sorry baby” he sits in her room on the nursing seat that his sister insisted upon for her room at his house.

He rocks her as he tells her how much he loves her and how sorry he is, looking down at a sleepy milk drunk bubba lull herself back into her sleepy slumber he interrupted.

He knows next time, scare games can go wrong.

And let’s just say Scott wasn’t happy with him for the rest of the day…

Warnings: just Luna being sad anxious, and overthinking her exam results and softy! Dad Chris is back 🥹 we love him, semi destructive behaviour *just an outburst that Chris has to deep pressure hug Luna to help her calm*

It doesn't take him too long to figure out what's wrong with Luna, even if she's shut herself down.

He comes up to her door, listening for any signs of crying or distress, "Luns, Bubba can I come in" he asks as he knocks on the door.

"Mhmhm sure Dad let me just put this away" her voice cracked as she tried not to give away anything to her dad because he didn't need to know.

Little did she know he hurt that little crack loud and clear, it hurt him that she was hurting, he opened the door it creaked as it opened bringing more of Luna's room into view, he made a mental note to oil the hinges later. "Hey love.. he asked inquisitively pausing when he saw her puffy red face "Have you been crying?" He asked.

"No!" she snaps out of frustration not releasing what she did until she snapped at him

Chris was taken aback by the way she reacted but he knew it wasn't on purpose. He padded over to her bed, her face covered in blankets. Hugging her lightly, taking a deep breath, taking a moment to calm down he looked at Luna with all the love in his and said "Don't lie to me, I care about you".

That just breaks the floodgates down, tears running rapidly down her face clouding her vision, the outline of her dad, and the blurry outline of a certain ginger and white patchy dog. She feels stupid, so stupid it's not even a reason to be this worked up over it, it's just classic Luna.

It was just a simple exam, just a simple f**king exam and she couldn't even wait for the result.

Turns out when she thought the next thing, she was thinking out loud, *I feel so stupid." She stuttered at the end, and then she thought *Nope I didn't just say that out loud stupid*. Her heart sank at the look on her dad's face. Here comes the spiel of boosting her confidence, it always works though.

"Luna, why would you say that, hmm?" He looked at her in disbelief.

It was getting destructive she was eating herself from the inside out with the thought she needed, out of her head.

"Because I am stupid! It's a stupid test result and I can't seem to not just do it normally, I have to pull a

'Classic Luna' she says mockingly, and overthink everything single. The thing I do!" She shouts, at what or who she didn't know.

He grabs her gently as she has her outburst into the general world, once again the gates break and the tears stream rapidly again.

"Shhh, hey hey... It's okay. It's okay sunshine. He whispers into her ear trying not to move her from where she's nestled in his neck. "It's okay, Luna you should never feel stupid for a situation that is out of your control, love you regardless of the result Bubba. Regardless of anything you are still my best girl, you are the best daughter. The smartest and most confident person in the world, and I know Scott would say you the best goddam niece ever too." He laughed as he tickled her lightly to get a smile out of her.

All in all, she's the smartest and sweetest girl he'll ever have the privilege of being a parent to, and that's all that matters to him.

It started with a sniffle

Paring: Chris Evans × Daughter! Reader

Summary: reader has a cold that turns into a chest infection so she definitely isn't feeling well so Chris is always there to give all the super fluffy comfort she needs.

Warnings: illness, medication, antibiotics, feeling nauseous, dehydration, health anxiety, crying and just feeling like rubbish.

(This is basically a self indulgent type fic because l'm still getting over my chest infection that is definitely clearing so I hope you enjoy!)

It all started with a fever, a stuffy nose and your body feeling like it’d been hit by a truck or dodger coming at you full speed. Whichever you wanted to say was worse.

Your dad was concerned of course because you weren’t someone to get ill, not like this of course - you had been picking at your food at best and it kinda all just went down hill from there.

When you slept you’d wake up in a fever of sweat, shivering the next minute and going back to sleep soon after. Coughing turned into hacking and having multiple coughing fits a day, even after taking a very hard deep breath since they were a struggle at best so your health anxiety wasn’t the thing that wanted to come out right now. Because anything at the moment of doctors can trigger it.

So when you coughed up a little more than some phlegm that was normal for how bad you were coughing… let’s just say that health anxiety was very much triggered at that point your dad just wanted to take you to the doctor or the hospital but you flat out refused.

Locked yourself in your room refused. Because your anxieties can rub off on eachother so sometimes your eachothers worse enemy.

After a lot and I mean a lot of convincing and talking Chris finally managed to get you to agree to go to the hospital because you hadn’t been really eating or drinking so he just wanted to get you checked out for piece of mind.

“Bubba I’m sure they’ll just have a check up and send us home with some stronger cold medicine okay” dad whispers in my ear whilst I’m buried in his chest clinging on to him, whilst sat in the doctors room at the er.

All I can do is wince back at him because talking whilst coughing before or after and where we are isn’t the best for me, so I had an AirPod in with noise cancelling to try and help the anxiety.

A little time later the doctor came back in and zoning out was all I did, even slightly when the doctor was trying to talk to me but dad knew what and how I was feeling, we ended up having to stay in for rehydration and some stronger antibiotics and meds because they had found out I had a chest infection on top of flu.

Scott did his uncle duty of dropping by with all of my comforts to help whilst I was in the worst place I could think imaginable, the peds team I had were the best, my nurse Emily was so sweet - she made sure I was as calm as I could be and even made sure dad was okay and she even played mario kart with me.

So the three days I spend in hospital all in all weren’t that bad because of the nurses and doctors who were looking after me and dad was there every step of the way even if I was worried about getting my flu that I was anxious about passing on.

Coming home was the best feeling ever, even with all the home comforts that were with me there is nothing like my room, my own bed and just mine and dads space with dodger of course!

I was on strict rest and fluids with what I like to call a toddler diet because Emily told me just to eat what was considered safe food for me since I’m still trying to get my appetite back so I’m eating chicken nuggets and strips with ketchup. And blueberries with kinderlyte for rehydration.

So it was snuggles and movies with dad until I was feeling back to my normal self, but I could go see people in about 3 days when most of the ickiness should be cleared and we’re going to see grandma so I’m happy.

And to think it only started with the sniffles

Summary: Chris comforts you after a bad shift

A/n: definitely read part one first

You stared at the time on your watch, anxiously awaiting the 15 more minutes to pass for your shift to be over. Everything was charted, everyone was taken care of, and if no one else was admitted, you could leave right after you gave report. It had been a long shift, with what seemed like back to back traumas, one after the other. Chris sat across from you, finishing charting his last few remarks before he too, got to leave. You enjoyed each other’s presence in a comfortable silence, allowing yourselves to take a breather for a moment after what felt like a day of chaos. 

Interrupting that much appreciated silence, the ER desk phone rang, the one usually used by the EMT’s to alert staff of an incoming patient by ambulance. “No” you whispered under your breath, hoping it was nothing. Chris shared a glance with you, hoping the same thing, before he quickly rose to answer it. You came and stood beside him, listening in and trying to figure out what to expect. 

As Chris hung up, the call only lasting about 30 seconds, he relayed to you what he just learned;

luna bringing over a partner for the first time and Chris meeting them?

This is a good one, I can imagine it going like this..

It isn’t so bad after all..

Chris meets Luna’s boyfriend who was her bestfriend for the first time and it goes so well.. like fluff comforting well.

Just a fluffy proud dad moment 🥹✨

So it’s the first time I was bringing over my “boy who is a friend” 👁️👄👁️ yes dad I have boys who are FRIENDS but this was a little bit more than that he’s been my best friend though everything and all the lows, highs and inbetweens.

Dad already knows him he’s called Olly and he’s been apart of my friendship group since middle school so he’s been my rock, I know how cute. But this is the first time dads meeting him in the “boyfriend capacity” and thanks to uncle Scott he’s not as shocked as he should be when I said I had a boyfriend.

“You have a what now?” He said laughing to hide the fact he was nervous because he knows I don’t let myself open up very often to the point of a potential relationship. But here we are.

“Yeah, Olly he’s my boyfriend, you remember Olly right?” I questioned him, it took him a moment, the puzzled look on his face soon faded into something of love and excitement because he knows Olly is a good friend who cares and loves me for me.

“Oh yeah! Olly’s a good guy, well bubs I’m happy for you, so happy - he says coming over to engulf me in a hug. - when do I get to meet him?” He questions.

“Today in about 3 hours, Uncle Scott helped me set it up” I told him laughing at his once Shiah shocked expression. I know I shouldn’t spring things on him like this because we’re the same but it’s only Olly and he’s met him before.

Time skip to a couple hours later

“It’s really nice to meet you again Chris. Scott and Luna have told me about all the jokes you pull in eachother.” Olly laughed at dads face after he heard what Olly just said.

“What an iconic moment, I told you there was nothing to worry about dad, Olly is a good person.” I said getting up to get a drink. Dad followed me to the kitchen whilst Scott and Olly set up mario kart.

“I know sunshine, I know I’m just glad that you found someone like him okay.” Dad whispers as he engulfs me in another hug. “I love him he’s good for you, now let’s go beat him at mario kart hmm?” He added on running back into the living room laughing.

“Fine let’s show him how it’s done” i shouted though to the living room making sure to get my drink.

I’m glad he really likes him and he doesn’t have to worry even though he still will, it makes me so happy - I thought whilst getting comfy next to dad and Olly. I breathe a sigh of what feels like fresh air knowing that I really had nothing to worry about.

Dad quietly whispers into my side, “I’m really happy for you bubs, I love you. I’m proud of you.”

“I love you dad”

So getting Olly to meet dad wasn’t that bad after all.

You know I’m not really one to reply to anon hate asks but this one just really is above anything. I find it really interesting that you think it’s totally accepted and reasonable to send something like this and use the language you’ve used. It’s rude and disrespectful.

And saying I should get my tubes tied, you don’t even know the person behind this blog and I find that really offensive for you just to say and think it’s acceptable to. Or why insane asylums should still be a thing and I’m just the reason they should still be open, and you using such an offensive word like retarded is as much hurtful as saying someone should get their tubes tied and never have kids. So to that effect I know I have some lovely people on here and lovely anons but for now I think turning anon off. Because this just isn’t acceptable.

I’m ranting again

It really is mentally exhausting to me that I made it though the first bit of my apprenticeship, and I have the certificate to prove it, yeah it’s only the first long mentally challenging time of many but I still have moments when I sit there and think. “ how did I actually do it” because I honestly couldn’t tell you the last 2 months were a blank i shut them out, like the many negative experiences I had. They stay in their own little box - with all of the other negative experiences and traumas I’ve had. My family don’t even know the half of it. “Working in a men’s world” really couldn’t be more true until your working in it.

I can wholeheartedly say I was depressed for some of my time on base away from home, I was isolated because I was the only female on the course - in my own room, yeah don’t get me wrong sometimes it’s was nice but it wasn’t good for me mentally. When the lads would say “I wish I had my own room it must be nice” yeah I would agree but I’d find myself saying “no you really don’t want that, I’d rather deal with petty arguments than be on my own”.

Within the first month of being on the second bass I’d been on since I started the technical side of the course. I had s*x jokes made about me, I was still underage. Rather I’d barely just turned 18, these were by people I was going to work with when shit hit the fan, I had indirect sexist remarks made about me by one particular lad, who to be honest no one liked because he was horrible. After the first few times with the s*x jokes it stopped and the lads realised, I wasn’t going anywhere and I could give as good as I could take.

I had my fair share of times where I’d cry in the toilets whilst we were in class or working on the workshop floor, I’d have panic attacks when I got back from work, I’d have to hold the tears in whilst I made the long walk (which I don’t miss) back to my room. There was one time I was literally sobbing in tears so badly on the phone to my mum I vividly remember saying “ I’m done, fuck this I’m not cut out for this. I’m not doing it anymore I’m going to *bosses name’s* office and saying I want to leave, I don’t care if I have to give them a months notice.”

In that moment, it was the one time out of my whole 6 months there, it was what we call a cutting it close moment that I really don’t like to talk about.

When it was the last two weeks of the course, I had to retake so many exams, because I’m not exactly the best person at putting pen to paper, let it be an oral exam I’m there 100%.

If it wasn’t for the staff that literally I owe my career to, I would’ve never been stood with the boys on the 7th of July. I would’ve had to relive the last 6 months all over again.

I’m not going to say I had a good time there, but I can say I’ve made positive memories that outweigh the negatives. However that’s going to stick with me for the rest of my life because it’s not something I can just forgot about.

For now it’s locked in Pandora’s box like the rest of my trauma.

This is why I can’t thank some of moots enough and my sister too, because you all really drew stars around my scars

Asthmatic! Cole x reader

Reader has had bouts of anxiety and panic attacks in the past but what she didn’t know was it really was asthma too that she had when she was a child but it was cleared. So cole and reader were getting ready to go for s family dinner at his parents house, who reader hasn’t really gotten to know very well. That being their interaction has been very minimal, and their meeting his grandparents too. Reader hasn’t always come from the family like cole has, all the love, support and banter so she gets in her head of course and what she thinks is just a little feeling of panic and anxiety she pushes down because she deals with it all the time and it’s not what she thinks it is this time. Cole starts to notice what he thinks is asthma attack symptoms because he knows what they look and sound like at least for him and reader still does get her rescue meds prescription filled because of really bad dust allergies and the amount of chest infections she’s suspected to have each year. So it’s just fluff of cole comforting reader though an attack and being really reassuring because he knows how distressing it can be. They do end up going to get her checked out because it hasn’t been this bad since she got a really bad chest infection a few years ago but it’s just fluffy.
